Abstract

This article was attempted to describe the amount of attention that The Qur’ân has given to the problems of caring for the elderly. As part of society classified as a vulnerable group, the elderly were frequently became victims of the passiveness of other groups of society. Even though their services cannot be ignored, such as their experience was also really needed. The author examined this topic using thematic interpretation methods. Among the main conclusions in this paper, although the word elderly (musin) did not explicitly found in the Qur'ân, there were many words used in the Qur'ân which refer meaning of elderly. Qur'ân did not order the care of the elderly, especially for the elderly who are Muslim, but also those from non-Muslim groups. The author has also summarized some qur’ânic principles to care for the elderly with all their characteristics.
